Arizona in Pictures (Final Post)

Friday we hit the road again...Grand Canyon here we come!! The vehicle we had for the last part of our trip was not as snazzy as the one Adam talked the gentleman into in Tucson. BARELY room for us and all the stuff. The girls didn't mind being squished in next to Judah though.
The airbnb home we rented was great! There were bible verses on the walls, a game room, plenty of beds, a huge tv, etc.

The number of beds was important because our good friends were able to meet us there! Earlier in our adoption journey, we had discussed whether we could turn an adoption trip into a "vacation" for our annual trip. Because of how quickly things worked out, Adam and I figured we couldn't make it work, BUT great people that they are....

We had a really good time together, like we usually do and it was way more fun to share exploration of the Grand Canyon with friends!
We did know it was going to be colder than we expected for desert weather. So we had mostly prepared. Chloe and Autumn brought us some warmer things when they flew in. However, we didn't expect snow!

Rachel was a great friend and wore tennis shoes with me to church on Sunday. There was 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground and I was a little afraid we were going to end up walking :) Adam made our yearly Christmas cinnamon rolls a bit late :)

Nathan had a great amount of patience and played Yahtzee with SIX girls!
We got to visit Bearizona too! It was a drive through zoo with a walking portion as well. There were animals we hadn't seen before like mountain goats, big horned sheep, white bison, wolves, etc. We all really enjoyed it even though it was pretty cold to be outside.

FINALLY on January 8, we were able to fly home! We left in the very wee hours to drive back to Pheonix. We got up at 3:30 AM Arizona time and walked in our front door at about 6:45 PM Tennessee time. It was a REALLY long day, but at the end of it we were HOME!

At home there were all sorts of WONDERFUL surprises waiting. Our friends are THE BEST! Adam had done tons of coordinating and kept it all a secret from me. He is pretty fabulous too :)
1. Christmas decorations were taken down and put away.
2. House was tidy and much cleaner than we left it.
3. Hot dinner was on the table, ready to eat.
4. The nursery was decorated and put together.
There were all sorts of thoughtful things we found throughout the next few days.
Home is a great place to be. Especially when you have been without it's conveniences for quite a few days. We returned home just in time for Judah to turn ONE month old!
