Christmas Vacation

We had a wonderful December! Celebrated with Adam's family, my dad's family, and our own little family. (Still have my mom to celebrate with!) It's been one of the best holiday seasons we have had!
After all of our normal Christmas festivities, we got to go on an after Christmas vacation. Adam's best friend is getting married! We decided to make a week of it. First we spent some quiet time in Somerset with little internet and just each other.  As we drove North, the temperatures began to drop and drop...it is COLD.

We all took rides with Adam on a four wheeler. Chloe and I discovered Adam makes a fantastic windbreak :)

Autumn really wanted to fish. Little did she know standing still with a rod makes you colder than running around playing tag :)
Chloe and Autumn both got to shoot guns for the first time! That was their favorite thing...not sure how I feel about that. They were both able to hit a bottle :)

Chloe was excited to hit 100 lbs on the scale because in TN that means NO more booster seat. Here's my not so little girl.
From Somerset, we headed up to Cincinnati where the wedding is going to be. We stopped at a steak place called Malone's which some friends recommended several times. Before we stopped, Adam and I decided we would try things other than steaks. So I got this burger and Adam had Salmon Piccata which were both delectable. We ended up splitting the two :)

Hotels are quite delightful for children...and for me too :) We are in a pretty nice room. 2 beds plus a pull out couch. So everyone has plenty of room. The breakfast has quite a few choices as well.

Friday we went to the EnterTRAINment Junction. It was really neat. Tons of model trains and a very large and intricate exhibit of trains from invention until now. They also had a Christmas train village. And all of it is put together by volunteers. Definitely recommend even if you don't have children.

Along with the trains there was a funhouse. The girls really enjoyed the curtain maze and this room.

Time to go get ready to attend a wedding! Stay tuned for photos :)

  1. So many fun things! And you've got to sharpshooters. Love it! Belhaven has a great toy train display this time of year. We watched them for an hour then had to drag the boys away.
