Thursday we went a short way to Harvard! Sometimes, I find, I have things really built up in my mind. Harvard has always been impressive to me, because I suppose I thought only truly intelligent and wealthy people were able to go there. I did at one point in high school have a dream of going there, just like most college hopefuls. In addition, this last year I watched Gilmore Girls and there's lots of conversation about Harvard and Yale :) Once there...it was just another college campus with older buildings than most :)
Next, we went to the Museum of Natural History on Harvard's campus. I have to admit, I was not excited about this part of the plan. But I was pleasantly surprised! It was a really amazing museum!
Chloe and Autumn have gotten some geode kits this year and thus have experienced some small, "normal" geodes. They were delighted to see this HUGE one!
I thought this nest display was really interesting. Birds are amazing architects! Each has different skills and things they use for camouflage and glue.
THIS is an armadillo! I don't remember it's "scientific" name, but can you imagine hitting THAT with your car?!
Lunchtime found us at Boston Market.
There were SO many choices! Autumn got a pretzel and mustard. Chloe got a homemade pasta dish. Adam and I shared a Reuben and a Farm Broth. It was all delicious! And for dessert :) I had a chocolate drink and apple cider doughnuts. Autumn had birthday cake fudge. Chloe and Adam shared Maple Walnut ice cream.

The Esplanade playground was calling out to the girls so we went back there. I took a walk along the Charles River while they played. We got some really good photo opportunities!
Boston Common visit WITH leftover biscuits in hand. They were so excited to feed the ducklings! Chloe really wanted to hold one and I didn't mind, but there were so many geese and adult ducks that I am not sure that would've gone well. They were able to get incredibly close though! Ducklings, sparrows, and ducks eating out of their hands!
Adam even got in on the bird action!
Autumn's favorite bird was the Swan. She was so excited when it swam by. It didn't seem much interested in our bread though.
The Isabella Gardner Museum was the last stop of the day. Adam was looking forward to it, but the rest of us were tired. I had read it is supposed to be one of the best museums in the country and that it housed some paintings from Degas who is an artist we studied a year ago. The girls and I just couldn't get into it though, so we didn't stay very long.

Our first stop was "the toe"...
Autumn did try to touch it, but she just couldn't reach which she found really funny.

Chloe had to pose with all the mama animals and Autumn likes the fast ones.
Next stop...Curious George store! Only one in the world! It was a fabulous little store.

Little Italy was our destination for dinner. We went to quaint little restaurant. Homemade tortellini is now on my list of favorite foods :) THEN we went to this bakery...They had an incredible amount of baked goods! It was a bit overwhelming!
