Officially Homeschoolers!

Well, we have the first week of homeschooling behind us!  I was really excited to get started and wanted to get going a little early to allow for the activities and travel that will interrupt our routine throughout the year.  Chloe was happy to start, but Autumn was MOST excited :)  Autumn loves to read, so I think she will end up sitting in with us for several things.
Our first day was really gentle and fun.  Adam took Chloe out to McDonalds for breakfast as a special first day of school treat.  Autumn and I made a banner to hang up in our Bonus room while she was gone.

Autumn loves to wait outside for Adam.  So after we got done with our banner we waited outside for Chloe and Adam to come home.  Autumn is holding Adam's lunch we prepared for him.

We are using a method called Charlotte Mason.  Here is an overview of her methods if you want to read some about it. Much easier than summarizing myself :)

We are loving exploring our neighborhood.

The first artist I have chosen to study is Mary Cassatt.  She did lots of paintings of women and children.  I knew Chloe would love that!

For several years now, some of our good friends have told us about Cheekwood Art and Gardens.  We are closer now that we have moved, so we finally have gotten to visit.  We have fallen in LOVE!  Chloe and Autumn both love to be outdoors and this is a great place to run around and see some natural beauty we don't normally get to enjoy.  Currently, there is a "Big Bug" exhibit.

Great things are ahead!  Fond memories to be made with this new phase of life.
