Month of Friends

Alabama - A jaunt south to see some good friends.  We get to play with their boys and they get to play with our girls!  Chloe can teach any boy to play "baby" and by the end of the weekend, the oldest came upstairs because he "just couldn't be a baby anymore!"  I did like that the father of the boys enjoyed that his boys were experiencing some girly play.

Missouri - Our time on the road was well spent.  Talking with each other, reading books, singing songs, watching the world go by outside (along with deer, turkeys, hawks, and one massive flock of swans)...quite enjoyable!
We stayed overnight in a hotel, which was a first for Autumn.  Both girls were really excited.  Chloe has stayed in a hotel a couple of times and told Autumn about sleeping with Mama and Daddy and the breakfast that she got to eat in the hotel lobby.  None of us slept well, because our girls are just not good sleeping partners.  They kick and flail all over the place.  Truly their Mama's daughters :)  We did have a tasty (I didn't say healthy) breakfast of doughnuts, fresh waffles and juice.
The Barnett house is full of love and laughter.  It was a great place to be!  We really enjoyed our time together and the girls loved having four more "sisters" :)

We were able to visit a new zoo and see some great animals!  There was one HUNGRY giraffe that tried to lick off our hands while we were feeding it!  Do you know how long a giraffe's tongue is??  Google it!  Our favorites were lions, a wolf, a fox, deer (yes, in the zoo...weird), squirrel monkeys, and peacocks.  Did you know male peacocks can make a sound with their feathers when they are fanning their feathers?

Not at the zoo, but at "grandmommy's" farm!

We also went bowling.  All of the girls enjoyed
that!  AND....for the first time EVER...Adam beat me :(  108-105
We always learn a lot about needs vs. wants on these visits.  There were 10 people and one small bathroom and it didn't even prove to be an issue!  The weather was nice and we did get to spend some time outside, but the 2 bedroom house was plenty of space and helped us love one another.  You know..."love grows best in little houses"

Teach Them Diligently Home Education Conference - We are gearing up to start homeschooling in the late summer of 2014.  This is a local conference and my first one to attend.  It was really encouraging and good for me to see all of the opportunities available for home educated children.  Some good friends from our congregation who have been homeschooling for a while attended with us and it was good to have someone experienced along.  They helped answer our questions and navigate the curriculum hall and process all of the information we heard.

March has been a crazy, busy month!  I am not teaching bible classes this trimester, so we have been more free to travel and I suppose we have taken advantage of it :)  Friends are one of the best parts of life!

"It seems they had always been and would always be, friends. Time could change much, but not that."
