The summer started off with Vacation Bible Schools all over! The girls got to go to THREE different ones. The one in Bowling Green brought other fun things since Hunter was there to play with :)
Adam ran a 10K on the fourth! It was rainy and a little cool, but he finished!
Ninny came to visit over the fourth of July and it rained the ENTIRE weekend! Creative play was a necessity.
We borrowed a truck this summer and Chloe was thrilled to get to ride in it. Adam does look handsome in a truck!
Mid July brought swimming lessons. Both girls were beyond excited until we arrived at the pool. Chloe was still fine, but Autumn was not pleased that I had to go sit elsewhere.
I told Autumn after the first day that happy little girls learned how to swim and got special treats so she needed to be agreeable. I gave her a smile and this is what I got in return! Precious! She tried to cover up her quivering bottom lip with her top one. She is a Mama's girl.

By the end of the week, we had a couple of joyful little fish! They loved the water before, but now they have a little swimming form and can actually GO places in the water. Money well spent.
Grandpa got to come stay with us for a couple of weeks. We went to the library, read books, played games, sorted medicine, told and listened to stories, and just generally enjoyed one another's company.
While Grandpa was here we went to visit an elderly couple from our congregation. Truly great people! They have lots of cool, antique things to look at and talk about, plus the girls get to do things like this! Mr. Don has been trying to convince Chloe for 3 years to ride this tractor and finally the day arrived :)
Between all of this we have started schooling. Really just a little bit of letter and number learning and more purposeful bible studying. Books we read are more focused, but really still lots of fun in our home.
We took our annual trip to the fair last weekend. Hunter got to come along and we had a ball! Perfect day at the fair!
Eating is what it's really all about right? Corn on the cob, fried green tomatoes, pizza, ice cream, and funnel cake was the fare of choice this year.
All 3 kids were anxiously anticipating the rides until we arrived. Autumn chickened out! She has been talking about it for an entire year, but there were too many people or something I guess. She's still little but I was excited for her to finally be big enough to ride! I think the favorite ride was the wacky worm roller coaster.
Hunter got to participate in a show!
And Autumn did agree to ride the laid back horses :)

And here for everyone's enjoyment is the most hilarious photo of the summer!

What a great pictorial trip through summer! I love it. And he does look handsome! Love all the pictures with Hunter. xxoo
