Master Bedroom Redo

This should really be titled Master Bedroom First Do, but that sounds a little awkward.  I think bedrooms are last on most people's lists because guests don't generally spend much time in there.  As long as the bed is made and there are no unmentionables on the floor, we try to be satisfied.  BUT, have you ever thought about how much time you spend in your bedroom?!  I've had the desire to do something calm, relaxing, romantic, and pretty in our room for a while.  However, I didn't know where to start.

Chloe and Autumn spent a few days with Adam's mom attending their VBS, so I quickly put all the pieces together and this is what I ended up with :)

Before:

A dresser/desk I got from Grandma's:

No, there is no curtain.  I've hung a thing or two up there, but have never been pleased with the result.  Thus, the pinkish/beige blind has remained.
 AFTER:
A nice, soothing, grayish-blue hue with a lovely black tie-up curtain
I'm still looking for fun, accent pillows and nightstands.

I repainted this white and changed out the knobs.  Looks quite good, I think.  One screw refuses to be removed.  Still waiting for someone to give me a remedy for that.
All in all, I love it!  I am so glad I finally did some improvements in there!

  1. This looks really good! And so spacious! I don't know if thats the camera angle, or the removal of the big shelf or the colors, but something did it. The bed ensemble is beautiful and the curtain is great. (did you ever get the blind down??) And I'm working on your nightstands. :)
    Its lovely!

  2. I haven't tried anymore to get the blind down. Sort of forgot about it! It's covered up, you know. I think the larger look is from the lack of nightstands in the one photo.

  3. We should look for you a head board too. It would give it a more finished look.

  4. Wow - what a difference! Looks great! :) We've got dark dated wood paneling in our bedroom. Bubba loves it. I have no idea what to do with it!
