Hmmm...I looked at my blog stats today and it's my 100th post :) Even though I don't really think about how often I write, it's still a fun milestone.
We've been on a groupon spending spree lately. 6 months or so ago, there were several splendid groupons we bought, but we hadn't taken an opportunity to spend them. This weekend, Cindi kept the girls overnight for us. (That was luxurious in itself!) Adam had a gift card to a restaurant called The Palm, so we ate there on Friday night. We had a delicious dinner that included an excellent crab cake, a fru fru salad (beets, fruit, goat cheese), veal, and chocolate chip bread pudding.
On Saturday, Adam took me to a shooting range. This was a momentous occasion. I don't think I had ever held a gun before. I have been apprehensive around them my entire life, but especially since 7th grade when a classmate accidentally killed himself with one. However, I am grown. We have two girls and Adam is gone a lot. I need to feel safe and that I can defend us if ever I need to. At this point, at least I know how to hold the gun and not look ridiculous! Now, I am not sure I could hit anything intentionally, but the odds are at least a little better, and maybe I will look a little more intimidating than I would have before.

This week, the girls and I took some friends to Jumper's Playhouse. The girls LOVE bounce houses and this place had 6!

My girls are turning into little bookworms! That makes me so happy! Adam and I love to read and we do read to them a lot. I often find them reading to one another or reading to a baby doll.
AND spring has sprung! Winter has not been very harsh here anyway. But we worked the ground early this week and played in the dirt (and a little cat poo...ewwwwwwwwwwww) and got some lettuce seeds in the ground. Every day since, Chloe has wanted to go outside and "watch the seeds grow" :)
I am thankful for ALL of God's gifts to us!

Uncle Hank will be very proud of that basketball shot! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, we have been to several basketball games this season and both are very excited to play now! Chloe actually likes to coach better..."Autumn, you play basketball and I will yell at you!"
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha I've got to share this with Uncle Hank!! :D
