House Staging

I have read quite a bit lately about how to sell a house quickly.  The number one suggestion seems to be DECLUTTER and arrange so that someone can see themselves living in your space.  Take your family out of that space and make it belong to someone else.  So, here it is!  Can you imagine yourself in this house?

Lots has been done that you don't see here.  Hopefully, a prospective buyer will see the attention to detail and fall in love with our little house.  Now that it looks so nice it's kinda funny to think we want to leave :)  (Oh, and no, our house has not been this tidy all at once yet.  It took me three days to take all the pictures!  I still have the master bedroom to do, but that's my project for tonight.)  It's definitely served our little family well over the past 3 years.  We are definitely ready for the next chapter though!

We've been house hunting a little.  This process seems like my process of trying on clothes.  I always take a HUGE stack of clothes to the fitting room only to come out with perhaps one piece that I am pleased with.  Friday, our list went from 14 to 2 :)  Some because they were pending already, but most because I didn't like something.  However, I'm glad we are looking at lot this time, because I want to feel extremely comfortable with our decision.  I want to know we chose the best house for us and the things we want to do in it.  Singings, bible studies, serving others, kid get-togethers, and bar-b-ques for instance.  I realize we can do those things anywhere and have done them here, but a bigger house, closer to our Woodland Hills family would be so much more convenient.  Let me tell you, 10 children under 3 at this house was an EXPERIENCE!  Needless to say, we are excited about the possibilities.

Chloe seems to be excited too.  I don't know if she knows what selling and buying houses really means.  But she has been pretty okay with me packing up some of her things and putting them in storage.  Friday, at the first house we went in, she gasped and said, "we didn't bring my bed!"

While we were outside cleaning off the driveway to take pictures Chloe found a robin's egg.  The last one she found she promptly stomped on!  I had a talk with her about what was inside (not too graphic, don't worry!).  This time she said, "it's broken, there is a bird inside!"  It was broken, but I don't think there was a bird inside.  She wanted me to take a picture of her foot and the egg (?).

AND...Today was Autumn's first day in piggy tails!  I'm not sure you can see it, but here she is!

  1. Isn't it wonderful how well a house can look in pictures! And it goes to show you that all those wonderful pics online that we are looking at... those people don't really live that way either. They did the same thing!
I am giggling over Chloe wanting to take her bed, and the pic of her shoe and the egg (.... maybe it was to show that she didn't stomp on it??) and over Autumns hair. So cute!

  2. I forgot to say how much I like the black door and the numbers on it. I plan to paint my numbers on my door when I paint it.
