April has been a frenzy of activity. We are ready for a break and our house isn't even on the market yet! Adam has been burning the candle at both ends. He gets up hours earlier than the rest of us, so he can provide for our family. On the nights he has not been at the office late, he comes home and checks something off my "honey do" list. A few times during these recent weeks, an alarm has failed to go off (and thankfully Autumn has slept in a little) and he has sneaked in some extra rest. I've been working like a crazy woman, trying to get our house "staged" and putting it's best face forward. It does have a pretty cute face, I might add!
Last week, we checked off our other big projects. We had a yard sale and didn't bring anything back in our doors. Not a lot of money made, but lots of stuff left the premises :) We also acquired a 10x10 storage building and are quickly filling it up. All of the closets and cabinets have been cleaned out and reorganized. It has given me a HUGE sense of accomplishment to throw out bags of trash and to donate to those who need things. Purging is fun! I really love to be organized and clean. It gives me such satisfaction. However, life just doesn't happen in an organized fashion most of the time and before I know it, the piles have closed in around me!

We had an easter egg hunt Saturday afternoon, just us. We were just too busy this year to try and get other children over to our house. Maybe next year and we'll have plenty of room for everyone too! Chloe and Autumn seemed to enjoy our small shin dig. Autumn found a couple and was satisfied. Chloe found the other 18 :) Growing up we always boiled and dyed eggs and then hunted those. I don't remember plastic eggs ever playing a part in our festivities. These days plastic eggs filled with treats seem to be the rage. I think it's so much more fun to dye eggs and be a little creative and artsy than to stuff a plastic egg. Plus, we avoid a little sugar consumption that way.

Ninny was here for the weekend, playing with the girls while Adam and I slaved away. She helped them "climb trees".
Here are the girls checking out the special springtime baskets Mama and Daddy put together for them. Chloe LOVES having her own big bible to carry around. She had been just using one of my old ones. So, we got her a new one. Pink and brown. She was most impressed that it had her name inside! She has carried it around quite contentedly and even sat down to read it at times that were not specified "bible study" times. For some reason, she loves the story of Hannah and Samuel. She also really enjoys Samson, so she often will preach one of those stories from the pulpit. They also each got a small, chubby doll, some little animals, white spring shoes, small lift the flap books, and the unavoidable candy.

Here are the required Easter photos. We tried the girls by themselves and a family photo, but those didn't turn out splendidly.
I LOVE A's hair!! :)
ReplyDeleteawe... I am sorry the family photos weren't good. Will have to try again.
