October

Yikes! It has been a month since I posted.  The girls and my innate desire to "go" keep me hopping!  We are having a blissful fall and are trying to enjoy the last nice days before winter sets in.
Let's see, we went to Gatlinburg with Adam's family and had a nice time together.  We did discover how difficult it is to do ANYTHING as a group of 11 who are of various ages.  Someone always needs to stop for a restroom break or a drink!  Nevertheless, we were able to see some marvelous fall colors, do some shopping and sightseeing, and squeeze in some visiting time.

Mid-October we finally got a double stroller!  I was so excited we went to the zoo the following day to try it out.  It's fabulous!  (note: always check to make sure all SIX breaks are off before getting frustrated that it won't turn!) Autumn enjoyed being able to ride next to Chloe.  Autumn is very cuddly and likes to have someone she knows well within arm's length.
I was not very ambitious with our pumpkins this year.  We just pulled out our paints and let Chloe do some "art".  For Halloween, I put together a Hello Kitty costume for Chloe.  Just days after Autumn was born last year I bought her a Minnie Mouse costume.  I decided this year that I don't want to buy another costume.  They are so plastic-y and uncomfortable feeling.  Besides homemade are so much cuter and FUN!  We had 3 different dressing up opportunities.  First, on Tues, we went to storytime at the library and trick or treated around the library.  Then, Friday there was a Halloween party with people from our congregation.  We have lots of little ones so we set up stations and trick or treated around the house.  Finally, Monday was the real thing!  I think the build up was good for Chloe because she knew exactly what to do.

In between the Halloween festivities Autumn turned 1!  We had a small party with her bible classmate and 2 other close family friends.  This was mostly because her birthday truly snuck up on me!  I didn't have a party plan at all until 6 days prior.  I didn't even make the cake...Publix was kind enough to do it for me (for a small fee of course!) We all had a good time anyway!

Unlike Chloe, Autumn stuck her fingers right into the cake.  After she did that, though, she looked at me like "now what?"
So, I gave her a bite :)
Then, she was all about making a mess!  It was tasty cake!

Then and now:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUTUMN!
