I have been teaching Chloe's bible class on Sunday mornings for the past few months.  Now that she knows the songs pretty well and a basic classroom "routine", she is really into "teaching" others.  When no one else is a willing participant, she teaches her babies!  I am very happy she enjoys bible class.  I know I haven't been taking full advantage of her willingness to learn; working on that NOW.

I have been experimenting with Chloe's hair.  She's pretty good at sitting still for a few minutes now or I do it while she brushes her teeth or while we discuss what to do on a particular day.  Therefore,   one night after my shower, she wanted to play with my hair.  I love little fingers in my hair, though I am pretty tender headed which did NOT come in handy.  She tried to put it up in rubberbands and even to braid it.  My little mimic she is!  (Note to self: remember this when I am short on patience and quick to anger.!)

One day, we made our fort into Noah's ark.  I didn't realize how many animals we had till Chloe and I went on a hunt to find them all!  I think we have 2 of everything and maybe even 7 of some :)  Before our play ended, Chloe went swimming in the floodwaters (quilts surrounding the fort), the animals were "saved" by raising them onto the loveseat, and Chloe was hidden in all the animals.  Fun times!

Currently, when Autumn is playing with something and wants to move to another area, she puts her toy in her mouth and crawls away.  This cracks me up EVERY time!  It's not always an easy to fit object either.  She often crawls around with a CAR!
The other night Adam and Chloe went on a dessert date after supper.  Autumn was helping me in the kitchen.  Looks like she will be a "helper" just like big sister!

Chloe is still in her "I don't want my picture taken", but it seems to be passing...see the smile under the hands?  I still get the best photos when I use the sneak and shoot method.

This past weekend McKenzie and Emma visited with us.  All of the girls had a great time together.  Saturday was the annual Spence Cabin and they got to come to that as well.  Adam and I got to sit around and visit with our friends while the girls played with dogs, used a rope swing and jumped around in hay in an old barn, and were generally entertained by others.  Nice!  We all went on a hay ride around the cabin near the end of the evening.  That was Chloe's favorite part.  We rode through the middle of a herd of cattle.  I think Chloe was amazed by how large cows actually are :)  Her favorite part (the part she told Adam about) was riding through a large "puddle".  Some photos from the visit with the girls (photography done by Adam) :

Saturday we, along with Adam's parents, our nieces, and Adam paternal grandparents, are going to Gatlinburg for a little vacation!  It'll be nice to see Adam's grandparents since we don't get the opportunity to do that very often.  I'm sure some down time with other adults around will be splendid!  Plus, have I mentioned I LOVE FALL?  A vacation in the fall...what is better?!

  2. Ellen had a stuffed Scrooge McDuck that she carried around in her mouth while crawling. It was so cute. He wore a purple gown and cap and the cap was one of those long dunce looking caps with a white ball on the end, which is what she held in her mouth.
I know, I know, choking hazard!!!
