A Good Week

These last few days have been, dare I say, fabulous!  The weather has been cooler reminding us that it will get more bearable soon.  The girls have been playing together well, sleeping for extended periods, and learning all sorts of things.  Chloe's potty training is going brilliantly!  She hasn't had any accidents this week.  She wakes up wet/dirty sometimes, but that's it.  She's VERY excited to put on her panties in the morning and asks almost every night to wear them to bed.  She isn't telling me when she needs to go, but I am not sure I am giving her the opportunity, because I still ask her to go relatively often.
Last week we went to the pediatrician for Autumn's 9 month well baby visit.  All went well with that, though we do have to go back for a follow up because she did not continue on the weight gain path she had been on.  Can you believe we have to go back because she may not weigh enough?!  I think it's just a result of her learning to crawl and her increased interest in playing :)  Last week I also started feeding Autumn yogurt and increased the amount of dairy in my diet.  THOSE were not good decisions!  Yes, I have to try those things every few months to ensure she still has issues with dairy, but those times have not been fun thus far.  She is in lots of tummy pain and there's not much sleeping for either of us (and sometimes Adam).  I haven't decided what to do when we start weaning.  Goat's milk, soy milk, rice milk...anyone have any experience?  I don't think she's allergic, perhaps just intolerant.  I still have some dairy in my diet and she eats a few bits of cheese and such without any ill effects.  It just seems to be dairy in normal amounts that she can't take.  Sidenote...Adam was allergic to milk as a baby.  I'm praying it's something she will outgrow.
Autumn is at a "tons of fun" stage.  It's really simple to make her laugh and it's the most adorable melody.  Sometimes she and Chloe laugh at the same time and it's a terrific sound!  Chloe seems to enjoying playing with her.  Now, if Chloe is doing something interesting in another room, sometimes Autumn will crawl off and join her, which is fantastic in my book!  Of course, she is getting into everything too, but I like to think I am better at teaching "No" than I was with Chloe.  I also know there is an end to the pulling things off shelves, sticking everything in her mouth, and crying every time I leave the room stage.  I was not able to enjoy this phase with Chloe, because I just wasn't certain it would end...which is funny to me now :)

Autumn does have her serious moments too.  Both when she is watching Chloe intently and when she is in her high chair experimenting with a new finger food.  Here she is with just such a pensive look.

Yesterday, we went to the city waterpark.  We've been a couple of times, but it's much less busy now that school has started.  Chloe loves it!  There's just not much to do with Autumn, because there are usually too many big kids running around.  Autumn and I sat at the edge in a puddle in some light sprinkling while Chloe literally ran around in circles.

Autumn gets quite proud of herself when she learns a new trick.  She is learning to pull up everywhere and on everything.

Happy near the end of summer to you!
