"Mama"

It's incredible how much my life has changed in two years.  We went from being a young married couple, to new parents, and are now a growing family.  Sometimes it's still hard for me to accept that I am "Mama".  Yesterday Chloe and I were playing on the deck and I wrote Mama in chalk and I think it was the first time I have done that in reference to myself.  Yes, I know I am an adult and that I have two daughters, but whenever I actually think about those facts, it's hard to believe I am that mature.  I am amazed that the Lord has blessed ME with these two lovely little girls to raise to walk in His steps.

We have had an unusual amount of snow for this part of TN already this year.  Here's some pictures from the latest snow.  Chloe and I have started throwing stale bread/chips/tortillas on the deck for some fun bird watching.  When it snows I let her throw it from just inside the door to the deck.

Adam has gotten to enjoy some extra time at home as a result of all the snow.  Chloe now knows what he does at work :

Chloe will be 2 years old on Wednesday.  Yesterday we had a little birthday gathering with some of our/her good friends who worship with us.

Chloe's favorite book right now is Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown, so that was our theme.
We like to do things on a budget, so I made invitations.

I also made the cake!  This was my second cake decorating endeavor.  I did Chloe's cake last year too.  I have enjoyed doing it, but I would like it more if I actually knew how it would look in reality when I begin.  It usually looks better in my imagination :)

I dressed myself and the girls in "farm" attire :)  Yes, Autumn looks kinda boyish...she had a bow earlier!
Chloe has become quite adept at opening presents, not so much at showing gratitude.  I guess that's the next step.  Her friends brought her some great books, playdough, blocks, and clothes!

The traditional birthday singing...Chloe knows how to blow, but fire is HOT, so she wouldn't get close to the candles.  Guess there are pros and cons to all life lessons.

This is the sweetest family ever!  Chloe ADORES all of them.  I am
certain Mrs.Karen has earned the title of honorary grandmother.  Her middle son is holding Autumn and even got her to sleep!  Zeb is Chloe's best buddy.
All in all, much fun was had.  Sharing was accomplished and good food was eaten.  Hip Hip Hooray for the terrific two's!

  3. Georgia has the same laptop Chloe has! It stays put away until I need to do something on the computer, then I pull it out and it occupies her for a while!
I love the party theme! And the cake and invitations turned out really cute!
