2011

I think I closed my eyes and the beginning of this year went by!  Adam and I really haven't even had a moment to sit down and talk about our goals for the year.  By the time both girls are asleep, Adam and I are pretty drained and not up for serious discussion.

Bedtime for little girls can be fun for all of us!  The end of the day brings lots of cuddles, kisses, and hugs.  Chloe loves to read now, so we wind down with some books.

We are discussing joining our local YMCA.  I could really tell a difference in my fitness level when I was pregnant with Autumn.  Yes, it was summer and I was playing with Chloe, but it seemed to take much more energy than being pregnant with Chloe.  So, I want to do some form of physical activity to get myself back in some semblance of fitness.  There is a 5K in mid-March that I want to run.  That way I have a goal and a reason to run every day, other than that I should.  Is it bad that in talking about joining the Y that one of my reasons for being in favor of it is that I can put the girls in the nursery/daycare area and go take a shower?

I'm trying to work on keeping the house a little neater.  I try to have Chloe pick up her toys at least before bed, if not more than once a day.  Chloe has also gotten better at playing by herself and pretending, so I can generally get the kitchen clean in a timely manner.  I'm also working on cooking more often.  No, we don't often go out to eat for supper, but Adam often has to cook when he gets home and I'm not sure he truly appreciates that.  Autumn is still pretty fussy around the 5 o'clock hour, so I'm still trying to figure out how to work around that.  Planning our menu in more detail at the beginning of the week and doing what I can during naptime will hopefully help me with that goal.  Any tips would be happily read!

For those of you who know about how fussy and gassy Autumn has been and how frustrated I am with that, we may have found the solution!  I have been fiddling with my diet trying to determine what is causing her fussiness and nothing has seemed to help.  We have given her gas drops almost constantly and though they did help some, it wasn't really significant.  Well, ALL drugstores and big box stores have been in short supply of gas drops.  We were completely out one week, so I bought some tummy soother/gripe water stuff.  We've used it for two days now and have noticed a DRASTIC difference!  Hopefully, this will solve her painful gassiness and allow us ALL to sleep better.

In other little lady news, Autumn is now half the size of Chloe!  At our last dr visit, Autumn weighed in at a chunky 12 and 1/2 lbs and Chloe at 24.8 lbs.  Autumn is our precious little butterball, while Chloe is our lean mean playing machine!

This winter has brought more snowfalls than I have ever seen in one winter!  I am most definitely NOT complaining!  It is so pretty while it's falling and since the girls and I don't really have any place to be, it's great.  Adam may vote otherwise since it makes driving to work a little more hazardous.  Our nieces spent one night with us, since they were out of school for an entire week.  Chloe enjoys the snow...until she gets too cold or some snow gets on her hands.  Then she's ready to come in.

This past weekend we had some friends over for dinner.  Chloe's favorite game is still hide and seek, but she has a new hiding spot.  She likes to hide WITH someone under a big blanket.  Our friends were good sports and hid with her!

I do hope the new year has begun fabulously for all of you!

  2. The girls are so cute! :) Looks like you all are doing well.

Do you know how I can make your blog go to your current post? Whenever I come to the blog, I have to click 'newer post' at the bottom and click through all of the posts to see the current one. I don't know what to do to fix that. Let me know! :)
