Two's Hard

I bet you thought I was done posting!  Never fear...we're all still kicking.  Little tired, little frustrated, little more gray, but here.

Autumn is ONE MONTH old!  Amazing, right?  I really thought I'd have figured out how to balance life with two by now, but I don't feel like I have made much progress there.  Newborns eat SO often and not for a short period of time in Chloe's eyes.  That said, Chloe really has done a great job adjusting to the new little girl in her life.  She really seems to enjoy her (for the short periods when Autumn is awake) and hasn't had much trouble with jealousy when one of us is holding Autumn.  It's me who has had a difficult time adjusting.

This is Autumn at 2 weeks old.  No, I didn't do a very good job of sitting her up, but in all fairness, I was trying to take a picture while keeping Chloe from climbing INTO the crib!
And below is Chloe at 3 weeks old!  I do think they really must be sisters!  I'm so glad I took these pictures of Chloe.  It's fun to compare.

Even though I expected to lose sleep, I think it's beginning to take its toll.  My patience level is not very high, my eyes are quite "baggy", and I often wake up with Autumn in my arms in the middle of the night (oops!).  I didn't remember the newborn time period being quite so taxing with Chloe, but I guess that was because it was much easier to "sleep when baby sleeps".  Now, rather than sleep, I need to fix meals for Chloe and Adam or I need to have some play/learning time with Chloe.  She's done so well playing by herself while I feed Autumn, I feel badly if I don't give her some me time when Autumn is sleeping.

Autumn had a doctor's appt yesterday.  It was really just a "she's doing great appt" which is fine with me.  I took a big sigh of relief when I found out there would be no shot involved...of course, I'm sure her sigh was bigger.  She is evidently going to be our little chunky monkey.  She weighed in at a hefty 10 lbs and 4 oz!  At least I know we are accomplishing something with all this nursing!

In crafting news...I made Chloe and Autumn blankets!  I am quite proud of them and it didn't take me all that long.  Of course, my mom helped cut, place, piece, fix mistakes, etc which made it go much faster.  Next on my list is some doll clothes.  Chloe has really started mimicking me and Autumn with her doll baby.  Therefore, she empties her drawers finding "toes" for her doll :)

Reader beware...this poster is BACK!
