Balance

Though our house may not be quite as clean and supper is often not on the table when Adam gets home, I think I am getting the hang of this caring for two girls thing.  Even though I still feel like I am being pulled in many different directions at once, I am much more balanced than I have been since Autumn's arrival.

I wanted to take a picture of Autumn in her bow and low and behold, Chloe wanted to match!  I had tried that before, but Chloe wasn't having that.  Guess it has to be HER decision :)

Chloe and I have been fitting in our one on one time while Autumn naps.  We've started doing some sort of craft almost every day.  It's a nice season for that...ANYTHING can be an ornament :)  We've also picked back up our daily bible lesson.  No, it's not very organized, but we at least sing some songs and go through the bible cards she has brought home from class.  It's helpful that Autumn is sleeping on her own at naptime a little better.  She seems to also be working quickly towards sleeping through the night.  I'm not getting my hopes up, but it was 5:45 when she woke this morning :)  Autumn is staying awake more in the daytime, so Chloe is also getting opportunities to "play" with her.  I think this is helping Chloe realize that Autumn is one of us and not just a doll!

The three of us have even gone out shopping together without too much incident.  It's not quite as relaxing as it used to be, but I suppose that's better on the purse, since I am not tempted to go out unless we really NEED something.

Chloe and I have been doing quite a bit of baking.  Cookies, breads, nut clusters...with more to come in the next couple of weeks I am sure!  3 years ago I made small loaves of a sweet bread for all of the regular families at church (meaning the Wednesday night crowd...not the Sunday morning!).  It was such a hit, that I have done it every year since.  It is a little bit time consuming, but getting to see all of the little elderly ladies faces when they get something homemade from one of us youngsters is priceless.  I'm sure it'll be all the more enjoyable this year, since I have Chloe around to help me hand it out.

Next on our list is Christmas with Ninny (my mom) and Dennis ( her hubby).  They are arriving at our house shortly and we'll have some fun, I am sure.  Happy beginnings to Christmas!
