We've been through lots of "firsts" now.  When Chloe was itty bitty, they happened all the time.  Now, they are a little more spread out...which ALMOST makes them more exciting.

I received a couple of Home Depot coupons for mums this week.  So, Chloe and I went shopping!  We brought home 6 mums (4 of various pink shades and 2 of the burnt orange fallish shade).  This would be a first for us both.  I'd never bought mums before.  Also, this is still an experimental stage for me...flower planting and growing has never been my forte.  However, the only thing I have managed to kill so far is a rose :(

Chloe - digging a hole and planting flowers

Yes, she did try to use the big shovel, but couldn't quite figure out how it worked.   We were trying to get them planted before it rained...the ground was SO hard!  Think it may have been a better plan to get it done between showers.

I'm not sure how she is
helping here, but putting
clods of dirt in a pot seemed
to be the thing to do!

I've been contemplating letting Chloe try out her toddler bed at naptime recently.  We're running out of time before baby #2 arrives, you know.  However, I REALLY enjoy MY naps during her naptime, so I haven't undertaken this new task yet.  Well, yesterday she wanted me to get her pillow and blanket out of her crib and she put them on the toddler bed and promptly laid down!  So, I thought "worst thing that can happen is I move her to her crib in a bit".  She went right to sleep and slept for an hour and a half!  Not as long as her naps normally, but really good for the first time in a bigger bed!  Last night,  Adam asked where she wanted to sleep and she pointed at the toddler bed.  She slept from a bit after 8 until 7:23 AM!  I don't know if it was a fluke, but I'd say that was a pretty good first attempt.

  3. I saw that Target has some toddler bed bedding sets.... I didn't even know there was such a thing. Of course we can make her some, too, but if she is moving permanently into the toddler bed, we should think about making it pretty. :)

  4. I suppose after this weekend you can add a "family first" to the list, although its not a fun family first :) Hope you are better.
