We often have slumber parties in my bedroom when Adam is out of town. Not every night, but every so often. Here they are before bed on Monday night. I didn't mention that it might snow overnight, because we were disappointed last weekend. So, this morning, they were surprised, which was a much better reaction!
Then they went in search of the neighbor children :) They were soon laughing and sledding and having a blast! They stayed outside so long, I began to worry about frost bite! I gave them several different materials to try as sleds. The inflatable frog was the best, by far.
Our hill is not made for ice and snow and driving, yet every time drivers try. We have replaced our mailbox each year. This morning was the worst yet, however on the other side of the street. Our "new" neighbors (moved in the summer) park on the street. I warned them that if it got slippery that they probably wanted to park in their driveway. I got up this morning and shook my head because they didn't move their cars. By the end of the morning, there were seven cars stacked up on their side, including a police car. On our side of the street, there was a tow truck and a gas truck and 4 other cars that were stuck. You would think people would stop trying. Eventually the police put up some cones and blocked it off.
It would be reasons like driving and gray snow and black ice that I wouldn't want to live in the north, but a couple of days scattered here and there are quite lovely to me!
