Our first sick doctor's visit in quiet a while occurred today. Chloe has been suffering from horrific listening skills. I finally decided this weekend to pay extra special attention to determine if she had some hearing loss or something (Yes, it is THAT bad...she has behaved as if she doesn't even hear me talk.) Autumn also had some symptoms of sickness, so off to the doctor we went. Let me take this moment to tell you how much I LOVE our doctor. He has a family practice, so he sees Adam and I too, but he is wonderful with our girls. Chloe loves him and can't wait to see him. Autumn hasn't gotten to that point, yet, she's not sure who holds the needle yet :) But she usually doesn't cry while he is in the room. He always makes me feel like a good mom! In addition to all that, he is a Christian so he has a similar value set. He also agrees with a lot of our parenting philosophy. Back to the appt...Results = Chloe had very waxy ears and lots of fluid. She also has a "wet" cough and lots of drainage in the back of her throat. She did seem to "hear and respond" better this afternoon. Oh, how I hope that was most of the issue! Autumn does have an ear infection. She has been a little extra clingy, but she's also getting 5 teeth, so I really had no idea. So, I suppose we are home for a few days while the girls get healthy.
Let's rewind to Chloe's birthday. We had a Very Hungry Caterpillar party this year. Publix had the honor of making her cake. Cake making stresses me out too much and it has yet to turn out like I envisioned. Therefore, Adam is happy to contribute 26 bucks to the Publix bakery. This is the first time we have had any structure to the party. We read the book, then we made a butterfly craft, and had cake and presents.
On Chloe's actual birthday Adam took off half a day and took her to breakfast at Chic Fil A. We had a well visit at the doctor and came home to open her presents from us. We got to outside and play before naps because it was so warm. I took Chloe to Chili's for a "dinner date". She had pizza :) It was a very pleasant celebration of her birth.
We had a toddler Valentines party again this year. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures except of the decorations :( We had 10 kids under 3 and 6 moms. It was a fun house full! Chloe loved her bag full of Valentines, unpacking and repacking it several times.
This was our breakfast the Sunday before Valentines day. They are cinnamon rolls. Supposed to be heart shaped.
This winter time God has blessed us with many days of sunshine to enjoy the outdoors. Vitamin D has been good for all of us.

Okay, so the coversation on the phone makes a little more sense now that I have read this :) The comment about how you hope she has hearing loss and not just NOT LISTENING left me a bit puzzled earlier! I tell you, hearing loss stinks! When we were out having our "day of drama" the other day we went to a place where the cashier had a sheet of glass in front of him. While I understand they feel the need for safety, it is my opinion if you cant spring for a speaker for them to talk in to, then you don't need the glass. I couldn't hear ANYTHING the guy was saying so it was a good thing Q was with me.
ReplyDeleteMy cakes never turn out the way I invision either but I figure as long as they taste good, who really cares? His Handy Manny cake when he was 2 was terrible but I don't think anyone complained about how it tasted :)
OOOOOhhhh....don't get me started on that glass. I would like to know if it has really prevented anything or if it is really just created as an irritant to society!
ReplyDeleteI read this when you posted it, but I guess I was busy and thought I'd comment later.
ReplyDeleteWell, later it is!!
Making cakes always stressed me out too. Especially when I was selling them. I get all panicked until it was done. :P Finally decided I didn't make anything really anyway, and I lost a lot of stress when I quit.
I still like making them for fun/free though.
LOVE that last pic of Autumn. and the pic of them holding hands makes Chloe look SO big. :)
