Christmas 2010 (1st edition)

I am getting old.  This holiday season seemed to swirl around me while I tried my best to catch it, but mostly ended up running in circles.  We had lots of fun enjoying it with our girls.  But that fun sure did entail a lot of work.  Loads of baking, a little traveling, lots of visitors, and lots of gift wrapping and giving.

As briefly as possible, here is a summary of our holiday.

Chloe LOVES to "help" in the kitchen.  If she is awake it is almost impossible to cook and especially bake without her pushing a chair over and asking what she can do.  So, she and I did an incredible amount of baking this year.  We made peanut clusters (not once, not twice, but THREE times), chocolate chip cookies, and friendship bread among other things.

Our "first" Christmas was with my mom and her husband, Dennis.  They came and spent a weekend with all of us.  We did a little gift exchange, but we also made a trip to Opry Hotel to see the lights.  Yes, this was my idea.  Yes, it was a bad one!  It was the weekend before Christmas.  Apparantly, everyone in Nashville had the SAME idea.  I really wanted Chloe to see the lights because I thought she would enjoy it this year.  She did like it, but I'm not sure it was worth the traffic or the wait for food afterwards.  Here are some photos from that weekend:

Autumn's gift from Ninny (my mom) was also a hit with Chloe.  I am excited for Autumn to get to use it :)  Lots of fun things to entertain her with.

Two of Chloe's gifts from Ninny.  The rocking chair is adorable!  Chloe is loving sitting in the living room in her own little chair.  Her favorite gift of the ALL has been the cheapy, last minute, purchase of a play cell phone and set of keys.  They look real and make real sounds rather than the cartoony noises and looks that some have.  It's been great for Adam and I because she's not so interested in ours.

The traditional Opry pose:

For supper that evening we went to Cock of the Walk.  Catfish was spectacular!  Love this memory of Chloe.  Little rocker in the morning, GIANT rocker in the evening.

Christmases 2,3, and 4 are upcoming...too much for one night!
